Wynken, blynken and nod
Wake up Wynken, Blynken and Nod.
Wake up and look at the time.
All night long you’ve sailed away
on the drift of a nursery rhyme.
But the sun is up and the moon’s asleep
and the stars have faded away.
The shining river of crystal light
cannot be sailed by day.
And now the tide has brought you home
from dreamland safe and sound.
It’s time for you to come ashore
with two feet on the ground.
It’s time to let the daylight in –
a world is there for you
and all the dreams you’ve gathered in
are waiting to come true.
So wake up Wynken, Blynken and Nod.
Wake up sleepy head.
But keep your nets of silver and gold
safe in your wooden bed,
for that old moon will shine again
across the seas of night
and little stars like herring fish
still lure you to their light.
